On Sept. 19, 2026, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (UMass Dartmouth) football player Marvins Antoine was killed.
UMass Dartmouth released a statement through Instagram. “We are heartbroken to share that first-year student and football team member Marvins Antoine passed away this morning following an incident in Providence, Rhode Island,” the post stated. “Our thoughts are with Marvins’ family, friends, classmates, and teammates.”
Keene State College Athletics also released a statement in support, stating that “Keene State is sending our condolences to UMass-Dartmouth Athletics, friends, and family during this difficult time.”
The Fall River Herald News released a tribute to Antoine, describing him as a “beacon of light” in the community.
UMass-Dartmouth held a candlelight vigil on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
