The Social Activities Council (SAC) hosted a Halloween screening of Scooby-Doo (2002) at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Mabel Brown Room.

Senior Gavin O’Leary, SAC’s traditions coordinator, said that the Halloween movie night has become a regular occurrence. “Last year my friend Pat (SAC’s current president) did a movie night, so I wanted to do the same thing,” O’Leary said. “I picked Scooby-Doo because I feel like everyone likes Scooby-Doo.”

“It’s just something fun you can go to with your friends,” he added.

Previous SAC events this semester include a tabling event in the L.P. Young Student Center with free dirty sodas and caramel apples on Thursday, Oct. 22 and the annual Fall Fest on Friday, Sept. 25, on Fiske Quad.

The event was generally well-received by attendees.

“I thought it would be really fun and I wanted to watch the movie,” said first-year Sadie Hill about why she went to the event.

“I absolutely loved it. I wanted to remember the movie, because I haven’t watched it in a while,” said first-year Ciara Poff. “It’s hilarious.”

For the future, O’Leary said that SAC is planning a trip to Boston on Saturday, Nov. 21.

Other KSC Halloween programming coming up includes a haunted corn maze trip on Friday, Oct. 30 and a special Halloween celebration on Saturday, Oct. 31 in the Student Center, both hosted by Student Involvement.

Those interested in getting involved with SAC can attend their meetings, which occur every other Thursday at 6 p.m.
