KSC’s Theatre and Dance (TAD) Department will hit the stage for the first time in the fall 2026 season next week with five performances of the play HOOKMAN.
The show, written by Lauren Yee and guest-directed by Hallie Flower, will premiere with an opening performance on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Redfern Arts Center’s Wright Theatre.
As previously reported by the Equinox, the show will mark Flower’s second appearance as a guest director for the department, after previously directing a TAD production four year ago.
The Redfern’s website describes HOOKMAN as “an existential slasher-comedy that takes classic horror movie tropes and violently flips them on their head. Funny and scary, Lauren Yee’s play explores the messy, bloody reality of survivor’s guilt, the profound weight of grief, and the unique anxieties of navigating the world as a young person.”
As with all TAD Department performances at the Redfern, tickets to next week’s HOOKMAN performances are available through the Redfern website for free to all KSC students, faculty and staff.
