Three Keene State College faculty members, Craig Sylvern, Jo Dery and Cynthia McLaughlin will share their works at the virtual KSC Creative Works Share on April 17, 2021.
Craig Sylvern, a professional saxophone player and KSC music department faculty, has performed throughout the United States. Along with being named Commissioned Composer of the Year (2011) by the New Hampshire Music Teachers Association, Sylvern created, and currently coordinates the annual faculty composers concert, which is in its 20th year.
According to her website, Jo Dery, a film professor at KSC, “is an artist who experiments with visual storytelling. She makes animation, books and comics, works on paper, and multimedia projects. Her creative practice is rooted in drawing and writing. Her stories are inspired by folklore, memoir, and a deep love of the natural world.” Dery received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design, and a Masters in Fine Art from Goddard College.
Theatre and Dance department professor Cynthia McLaughlin has performed at venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, DUMBO Dance Festival in New York City and Performance Mix Remotely Yours. McLaughlin, the Coordinator of Dance at Keene State serves on the board of directors at The School of Contemporary Dance and Thought. Recently at Keene State, McLaughlin presented her dance film “Brangelina” in the Fall of 2020.
