Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) is expected to pause all activities on and off campus.
A memo sent to the Lambda Sigma Chapter of the fraternity on March 20, details the organization is under cease and desist and is going through the community standards process.
According to the memo obtained by The Equinox from the Dean of Students Office, the cease and desist will stay in effect until the community standards process is completed.
The memo, sent by Director of Student Involvement Jessica Gagne Cloutier, states, “The allegations within the new report suggest an ongoing pattern of behavior which continues to threaten the health and safety of our community. As such, this cease and desist is broad in scope and means that the group is not to meet in any capacity, officially or unofficially.”
By this, the TKE is unable to hold chapter meetings, executive board meetings, hold programs or events of any size and type or travel.
If the fraternity violates the cease and desist it will be regarded as a separate incident and is subjected to the community standards process as well, the memo states.
Additionally, since the chapter does not have an advisor who is full-time faculty at the college, Brandon Carta, Interfraternity Council advisor and student programs coordinator, will serve as one until it is lifted.
Carta declined to comment because the process is still ongoing.
President of TKE William Krenicky did not respond to multiple requests to comment.
