A former Keene State College student was sentenced to three years probation and received a $500 fine in Federal Court, according to AP news on Jan. 18.
The Equinox previously reported in October 2023, that Allan Poller, pleaded guilty to transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure the person of another.
This came after Poller was arrested in April 2023 for leaving a threatening voicemail message at U.S. House Representative Matt Gaetz’s (R-Fla.) office.
The Equinox additionally reported in October 2023, Gaetz confirmed Poller left him a voice message on his podcast Firebrand on April 10, 2023.
According to an Oct. 12, 2023 press release from the New Hampshire District Attorney’s Office, Poller admitted he made the call after drinking and becoming angry while scrolling through social media.
The release states, Poller left the following message: “Hi, my name is Allan Poller, A-L-L-A-N P-O-L-L-E-R, phone number [redacted] 8931. And I just want to let you know, Representative [redacted], if you keep on coming for the gays, we’re gonna strike back and I guarantee you, you do not want to f**k with us. We will kill you if that’s what it takes. I will take a bullet to your f**king head if you f**k with my rights anymore. And then if you want to keep going down that path, you know who’s next.”
AP news reported that according to a sentencing memorandum written by Poller’s lawyer, Poller, “has used the catastrophic effect of his actions as a catalyst to begin a new path in his life. He has strengthened his bond with his family and has completely accepted recovery into his life.”
