The University of New Hampshire (UNH) became the first New Hampshire. college to indefinitely move its application deadline following another setback.
UNH made the move on Sunday, Feb. 2, following an announcement by the Department of Education that colleges’ financial aid offices will not receive student financial information until March, according to a Feb. 2 article from WMUR.
UNH said the new deadline would be contingent upon when they receive students’ information.
The Equinox reported in a Jan. 31 article that KSC had expected to start receiving student information by the month’s end.
Traditionally, colleges obtain students’ information by December, but with the rollout of the new FAFSA form and a miscalculation in the inflation-adjustment formula, timelines have been thrown off-balance for many colleges.
Cathy Mullins, who serves as director of financial aid and scholarships, previously told The Equinox KSC may revisit the Mar. 1 priority deadline for submitting applications depending on “… how late everything goes.”
Mullins told The Equinox that the college was not considering moving the FAFSA priority deadline at this time, and that since KSC has rolling admissions, there would be no change.
