Amanda Marshall scored the game winner in double overtime for Keene State on Thursday afternoon.
KSC hosted Bridgewater State on Thursday, September 23. The game was off to a slow start with neither team scoring in all of regulation. This game also saw no yellow cards for either team.
Keene State started this matchup with Abbie Terrinca in net. The lady Owls set up a 4-5-1 formation. The four starting defensemen for this game were Kathleen Mullen, Avery Amalfitano, Alex Kennedy and Alexa Skinner. On midfield, Keene started the famous twins, Amanda and Kayleigh Marshall, along with Victoria Reynolds, Allison Yanski and Rachel Souza. The starting lone offender was first-year player Raelyn Callahan.
Bridgewater State played a 4-2- 4 formation beginning with Tory Viola-Laughery as goalkeeper. On defense, the Bears started Natasha Barnes, Samantha Tomaszewski, Megan Keller and Hannah Johnson. At midfield began Cassie Brown and Delaney Langton. The four starting offenders for the Bears were Michelle Belcher, Madelyn Morin, Audra McDuffie and Bailey Brown.
After a final regulation score of 0-0, the Owls would go on to face the Bears in overtime. However, the first overtime held the same results as regulation, ending with no score on the board. The teams then went on to face in double O-T. Going onto the 103rd minute in the game, Amanda Marshall was able to find the net and score the only, and winning, goal for KSC.
On Saturday October 2, KSC will host Eastern Connecticut for a start time of 1 p.m.
