As the United States and Israel continue the barrage of terror on Iran, President Donald Trump claims that the end of this war is near. The last day of March marks the 32nd day of American-launched attacks on Iran, and recent developments could hint at an ending.
Each day, the president steps into the public eye, prompting many Americans and people around the world to shake their heads in disbelief and anger.
AP News reported early on Tuesday, March 31, that the president claimed that Iran was looking to secure a deal to end the conflict. The same source then claims that the Islamic Republic denies any sort of talks with the U.S. president, and from what we know about the president’s integrity, many side with the reports out of the Islamic Republic.
What was once a confident president and administration that bragged about their performance in the conflict has turned into an administration that has seemingly bitten off more than they can chew. Not in the sense that the American military cannot handle the conflict, but more so in the sense that Americans are fed up with the needless death and needless spending that this conflict has brought on.
Young Americans not much older than I am are dying, and most Americans have viewed that objective fact and decided that this is not the correct path for America.
On March 30, Reuters reported that “Thousands of soldiers from the U.S. Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division have started arriving in the Middle East.”
These are the best of the best heading over to the Middle East, even though there are supposed negotiations to end the conflict. Not that President Trump is a transparent source for much of anything, but it seems that his notion of an end to the conflict may be untrue.
No matter when the end will come, there will always be a future conflict with those that we bomb into oblivion. Just as there was before, there will always be some young child who watched their family die from an American missile, and that child will learn to hate America over the course of their life. So what if this whole thing ends tomorrow? We are still hand-in-hand with Israel, which is not respected across the globe, and we still have a president sticking out his chest towards other nations. What is the point of negotiation when it seems conflict with other nations is a given?
As more American lives are lost and more on the home front are being destroyed economically from the war, it is a good time to remember that this is the president who flaunted that under his administration, there would be no new wars. Not just no new wars with U.S. engagement, but wars around the world. Over the last month, the U.S. has engaged in a new war while also helping another nation (Israel) carry out its mission of war against Iran. From a logistical standpoint of the campaign, this conflict makes no sense, never mind the actual lunacy of going to war from an outside perspective.
Keep an eye out for some sort of peace talks, but know that as long as we keep on playing the big bad wolf, we will always remain the big bad wolf.
