Main Street’s historic Colonial Performing Arts Center is gearing up for a variety of live performances at its main theater and showroom venue that will run over the course of the fall ’25 semester.
The Colonial Theatre, a staple of Keene’s downtown district since 1924, will run 26 shows between Friday, Sept. 5 and Friday, Dec. 19, which is four days before the college’s residence halls will close for winter break on Wednesday, Dec. 24.
The main theater is located at 95 Main St. in Keene, and the showroom is located at 20 Commercial St.
In September, the theater will run “Nerd Night” on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. at the showroom, “Glen David Andrews” on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. at the main theater, “Biribá Union” on Friday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. at the showroom, “Crys Matthews and Heather Mae” on Friday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. in the showroom, “Crazy in Love: a Beyoncé Tribute” on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. in the main theater, “Dueling Pianos” on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the showroom, and “Sweet Honey in the Rock” on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. in the main theater.
In October, the theater will run “Black Violin~Full Circle Tour” on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in the main theater, “Take me Home-The Music of John Denver starring Jim Curry” on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. in the main theater, “Ben Pratt” on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. at the showroom, “California Guitar Trio” on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the showroom, “April Cushman” on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at the main theater, “La Sonnambula – Bellini” on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at the showroom, “Malika Zarra” on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the sand “Get the Led Out” on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the main theater.
In November, the theater will run “Rasa String Quartet” on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. at the showroom, “La Bohème – Puccini” on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. at the showroom, “American Railroad Silkroad Ensemble featuring Wu Man” on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at the main theater, “USAF Airmen of Note” on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. at the main theater and “Arabella – Strauss” on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. at the main theater.
In December, the theater will run “Choir!Choir!Choir! presents: Un-Silent Night: An EPIC Holiday Sing-Along” on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at the main theater, “The Magic Flute Encore” on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. at the showroom, “Low Lily’s Winter Solstice Celebration” on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at the showroom, “Andrea Chénier – Giordano” on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. at the showroom, “Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol” on saturday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at the main theater and “Start Making Sense – a Tribute to Talking Heads” on Friday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. at the main theater.
