The new semester brings so much more to students than new courses, classroom environments and workloads. Lloyd’s Marketplace in the student center and Hoot-n-Scoot now have copious new products and options for students to try.
These products extend beyond new snacks and treats that students can purchase on the go.
“I was surprised to see the new snacks added in Lloyd’s. However, the new beef sticks they added are not very good. But, my favorite was that they had a pack of mini Starbursts at the start of this semester that have never shown up again that I wish they would bring back,” said junior Evan Marchand.
Inside of Lloyd’s, there are new drink stations right near the entrance that are filled with grab-and-go drinks. These drinks are very new as they are not the typical drinks that come from the fridges in Lloyd’s. There are four drink machines filled with different kinds of tea-like drinks for students to help themselves to purchase. These drinks include various flavors like hibiscus, peach, berry patch and farmer punch. “I tried the hibiscus drink and it was very good. I really like that Lloyd’s is expanding their selection of items to purchase,” said junior Ella Sirois. “I think I am going to try the smoothies next at Lloyd’s. I typically order Starbucks every other day so I am very excited to try the other new options they have to offer for drinks.”
On the Boost mobile app, there is now an option to order ahead not only for Starbucks beverages but for Sushi Do, Tú Taco and Madison Street Subs. This means students can skip the lines and order their food ahead of time which is a feature that is new to the app this semester.
“I did a Boost order and it was quick and I was happy after a long day of class after getting my Boost and not having to wait in line for Tú Taco,” said junior Lauren Dombrowski. “I’m really excited to try the boba in Hoot-n-Scoot. It seems very good so that’s the next thing I’ll try.”
Inside Hoot-n-Scoot, there are also new products. These include a new boba tea menu featuring milk teas and fruit teas. There are three new milk tea flavors and two fruit tea flavors with an option to add tapioca pearls, rainbow jelly or lychee jelly.
Likewise, the Boost mobile app has now introduced Smoothie Lab Master with seven different smoothie options for students to pre-order. The pickup hours for the smoothies are from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
