Keene State lacrosse played Plymouth State on Saturday, April 20.
In the first quarter, it ended dead even at four. Plymouth State senior Nolan Burke had two goals to kick things off for Plymouth.
In the second period, Plymouth State won 5-3. Plymouth State junior Ryan Jones and senior Crosby Fay scored the first four goals of the quarter. But then Keene State answered the call scoring three straight goals of their own. The score was 9-7 Plymouth State at the half.
In the third quarter, the game ended in another draw at 2-2. Fray and Jones from Plymouth were the usual culprits once again on the two goals for Plymouth. Sophomore Jack Ansart and senior Colby Quiet of Keene State scored the two goals in that period to keep up with Plymouth.
In the fourth Plymouth shut out Keene even though Keene won the quarter 3-2. Keene State scored the last three goals of the game in a last desperate attempt to try and make the comeback but they fell just short of a final score of 13-12.
Keene State had some stand outs. Ansart scored three goals. Senior Andrew Miller had two goals. Junior Jeff Wiedenfeld had another two goals. And finally Quiet had two as well.
For Plymouth State Fay had four goals. Jones had three goals. And Burke scored two goals.
With the loss Keene State fell to 6-6 and earned their first loss in the LEC, 5-1. Plymouth State improved to 11-4 and improved to 6-1 in the LEC.
