Norma Walker, the namesake for Norma Walker Hall in the Alumni Center, died at the age of 95 on Saturday, April 27, according to an email from Keene State President Melinda Treadwell.
“Norma Walker was an ennobling presence on campus for over seventy-five years,” the email stated.
Walker, ‘51, served on the Alumni Association Board for over 28 years and founded the Golden Circle Society, an alumni group for those who graduated 50 or more years ago from the college.
After graduating from Keene State, then-Keene Teachers College, in 1951 and later earning her master’s degree in 1959, Walker taught elementary school reading.
In 2019, the college named the space in the Alumni Center after her, citing her gifts and time spent with KSC over the years.
“Through this and our many memories of her wisdom and kindness, her legacy will endure,” the email stated.
