First-year Caleb Harmon defeated after a loss earlier this season. Men’s soccer suffered a touch 3-1 loss against Eastern Connecticut State University on Monday, October 25. The solo Keene State goal was put on the board by sophomore Nicholas Dalesio. Dalesio is now tied with senior Denis Fleming and junior Mbambi Mbungu with five goals this season. Earlier this week, the men faced off against Middlebury, MCLA and Southern Maine. First, on Tuesday, October 19, the Owls hosted Middlebury and suffered a close 3-1 loss against the Panthers. KSC was down 1-0 by the end of the first half. Only a minute into the second, Keene State’s Dalesio would score the only Owls goal of the game to tie up the score 1-1 with an assist coming from Fleming. Middlebury would score two more times to end the game with a score of 3-1. KSC received two yellow cards, one to junior Wyatt Linville and the other to Fleming. Keene bounced back the next day when they played MCLA. The Owls took this one 1-0 with a goal coming from Dalesio, assisted by Clinton Mungeta. This goal would be the only one for either team. KSC received two yellow cards in this game as well. These fouls were by Mbungu and senior Ethan Rose. The Owls saw another win on Saturday, October 23, when they took on Southern Maine. Mbungu scored the only two goals of the game for a final score of 2-0. Mbungu’s first goal took place only three minutes into the game and was assisted by Rose. Mbungu’s second goal was fifteen minutes into the second half, assisted by Noah Spaulding. This game would also hand one yellow card to Keene. This card was received by Fleming. The KSC men’s soccer season is coming to an end. They will play their last few regular season games this week. First, on Wednesday, October 27, the Owls will host Worcester State for a 7 p.m. kick-off. Then, on Saturday, October 30, the men will host their senior night game against Rhode Island College with a 1 p.m. start-time.
