Keene State Owls lose to ECSU 3-2
The Keene State College Field Hockey team took on the Eastern Connecticut Warriors on September 18 in Mansfield, Connecticut.
In a slow first period, Keene State would take four total shots, all of which would be saved by the Warriors. All but three would be saved by Sarah Gallagher. The first quarter also saw three penalty corners, all by junior midfielder Maggie Cahoon.
Within the first minute and a half of the second period, the Warriors scored their first goal, the first goal of the game.
This was met with another goal for the Warriors nearly eight minutes later, bringing the score to 2-0 Warriors.
With a slow start to the third period, junior midfielder Lauren Hausser scored her first goal for the season, bringing the score to 2-1 Warriors.
Toward the end of the game, junior forward Ellie Hunkins tied the score at 2-2, causing the game to go into overtime.
Overtime would end nearly 4 minutes after it began with a goal from the Warriors, causing the Owls to lose this game, making them 1-6 this season.
The Owls will next take on New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire on Wednesday, September 22. Then, the Owls will play a home game against Western Connecticut on Saturday, September 25.
