Late Saturday morning Keene State College Campus Safety sent out an email alerting students of a “forcible sexual assault.” The incident is believed to have happened shortly after 9 a.m. in Carle Hall.
According to Lieutenant Jay Duguay, of Keene Police Department, the female who was assaulted is an on-campus worker.
Assistant Director of Campus Safety Ethan Kipnes said the woman sustained some injuries and was taken to the hospital although her injuries were not life threatening.
Saturday night Campus Safety extended shuttle hours and increased patrols around the residence hall to “help students get a peace of mind.”
Kipnes said although they do not have a full description of the two alleged perpetrators, they believe they were college-aged white males with dark hair.
Kipnes said if it turns out the perpetrators are students at KSC any discipline would be handled by the Office of Student Conduct or the Dean of Students.
Both Kipnes and Director of Campus Safety Amanda Warman are making sure to remind all KSC community members that there are campus escort services 24 hours a day by calling Campus Safety.
Campus Safety and KPD are currently investigating the incident and encourage anyone with information to contact them. Campus Safety can be reached at (603) 358-2228 and the Keene Police Department can be reached at (603) 357-9813.
