Two Owls from men’s indoor track competed in the Harvard Invitational Meet on Friday, Jan. 30, receiving top spots in the two events. The Harvard Invitational brought athletes from DI, II and III to compete in 49 events over two days. The Owls were coming off a second place finish in the Panther Invitational at Plymouth State.
Junior Tyler Bolaske ran his personal best in the 3000-meter race, coming in third with a time of 8:25:55 among fifty competitors. His previous mark was 9:04:22, set last year at the Dartmouth Relays competition. The mark is the 45th best in DIII. Bolaske was the only DIII competitor to finish in the top ten, along with racers from Boston College, Harvard, Sacred Heart and Brown.
Senior Aidan Law competed in the long jump, coming in second with a mark of 6.93 meters among 13 competitors. Law fell short of his previous marks this season in the Plymouth Panther Invitational and Suffolk Relays, where he recorded marks of 7.06 meters and 7.19 meters, respectively.
Owls Track and Field also competed in the Husky Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 31, placing first in the competition with 162 points.
Bolaske, Law and Keene State Track and Field are back in action at the River Hawk Invitational, competing in Boston on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Both the men’s and women’s teams also competed at the Husky Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 31, where the men’s team placed second in the meet and the women’s team won first place. The teams will next compete at the River Hawk Invitational on Friday, Feb. 6, in Gorham, Maine.
