Recently, Keene State Media Productions (KSMP) hosted elections for their new e-board. Current Treasurer and incoming President, sophomore Heather Gibb, said that everyone running made a speech to the club and then the votes were taken on paper. The current president, senior Colin Murphy, counted the votes and announced the winners to the club.
After being in the club for the past two years, Gibb said she wanted to take on a bigger role.
“With Colin [Murphy] and Jacob [Conway] leaving, I wanted to help continue what they had started because over the past two years Media Productions wasn’t as big,” Gibb said. “They really did a lot of work with growing it, so I wanted to help keep that going and continue growing it.”
With the current Vice President senior Jacob Conway leaving, the spot was taken by Cameron Rockwell, the current social media coordinator. Junior Patrick Garcia is taking that role, leaving his current position as secretary. A new position was added for the upcoming year, that being events coordinator, which was elected to be first-year Thomas Lambert.
“Nobody filled the positions of treasurer or secretary at the recent election,” Gibb said. “We will hold a special election in the fall to hopefully fill those.”
Gibb said KSMP’s Halloween film festival and final film festival will happen again next year.
“I am excited for next year,” Gibb said. “I have a great e-board I’m working with, so I’m excited to put on events and all of that.”
KSMP’s final film festival is currently accepting submissions until April 24. There are prizes for the winners, with a Nintendo Switch being awarded to the first place submission.
