Keene State’s Women’s Field Hockey team ended their matchup with a score of 2-1 on Saturday, November 2, 2024 against Union College.
Close to the end of the first period, there was a goal by Union to go up one.
The second period was full of penalty corners by Union. A green card was placed on Union toward the end of the period.
Union came in strong in the third period with multiple shots, in which both were saved by junior goalie Clara Gorman. A goal was scored by Keene State’s senior Irini Stefanakos, with an assist by sophomore Grace Seabury. This was the tenth goal for the season for the junior.
The game fell into overtime as both teams were tied 1-1. A shot was attempted by Union, but it was saved by the KSC goalie. A goal was scored by Union, with an assist as well, making this goal number 19 for the season. The game ended with Union coming out victorious with a final score of 2-1.
The Keene State Field Hockey team will play on November 7 in their semi-final matchup. Keene will host the game at the Owl Athletic Complex at 5:00 pm.
