The Office of Student Involvement hosted the first Friday night bingo of the fall 2024 semester, open to all students, on Friday, Sept. 7. The turnout was out the door.
“Bingo is held twice a month. Two in September, October, and November, and one in December. There are eight Friday night bingo games in the spring semester and two during finals weeks,” said Jessica Gagne Cloutier, director of student involvement at Keene State College.
Students are encouraged by the Office of Student Involvement to go to bingo to get the chance to win prizes and bond with those in the community.
“I have never been to bingo, but I really wanted to experience the community of Keene State College on a deeper level,” said junior Joshua Knight.
Friday night bingo invites students to make friends and engage with the community at the event. There are numerous times to go to bingo as it is put on roughly eight times per semester, allowing students the opportunity to go to this event at least once if they are inclined to.
Students can win prizes at bingo by having a lucky winning card. The prizes offered at bingo range from gift cards to backpacks, coffee makers and 10 sizzler cards that can be redeemed for Sizzler sandwiches in the Hoot-N-Scoot.
“My favorite prizes I won were Ray-Ban sunglasses and a $50 Walmart gift card,” said junior MJ Butler. “I went twice ever and won both times.”
At this event, there were 10 rounds of bingo, and students with the winning card received prizes each round, sometimes multiple prizes per round. One Office of Student Involvement member reads out the numbers that appear on the screen while a tech crew in the back ensures everything is displayed correctly.
