An electrical fire that broke out in Owls Nest 1 caused one resident to be relocated.

According to an email sent by the Associate Vice President for Student Engagement Jennifer Ferrell to the Keene State College Community on Monday, April 1, no students live in the building, but 15 temporary dining staff are currently living there.

The email states the fire occurred on the second floor in a common space and in one first-floor room. The affected area saw minor damage.

The Keene Fire Department swiftly arrived at the scene in five minutes, after being alerted at 5:15 a.m. by the alarm system.

We are thankful for our relationship with the Keene Fire Department and appreciate their quick response. Thank you to all campus partners that assisted during this event as well,” Ferrell stated in the email. “Clean up and necessary repairs are already in progress.
