Keene State men’s soccer went head-to-head against rival Plymouth State on Wednesday evening, Oct. 11. Keene State is currently at the top of the LEC, standing with a record of (7-3-2, 4-0-2 LEC), and Plymouth placed second to last according to the LEC conference website. Both teams came to a draw and held each other to 0-0 throughout the match.
KSC started out, trying to get a shot off right away. With KSC moving the ball up the field in three passes, switching the ball to the corner and then moving it back into the middle where Rahul Drukpa flicked it up and fell to the ground, but the ball went wide.
KSC and Plymouth went back and forth, giving the Owl’s multiple chances to score;they outshot the Panthers in both halves. The final total was 23 shots from Keene and seven shots from the Panthers. Out of the 23 shots only six of them were on goal for KSC, vs Plymouth where three out of their seven shots were on goal, which senior Reagan Racicot saved.
Plymouth ended with seven in the first half, and four in the second, making a grand total of 11. Keene ended with six total fouls, with four in the first half and two in the second.
This is the first time Keene has tied with Plymouth since 2002.
Keene will play at Southern Maine on Oct. 14.
