A Keene State student pleaded guilty in federal court to transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure the person of another.
Allan Poller pleaded guilty to the charge on Thursday, Oct. 12, according to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office District of New Hampshire released the same day.
The Equinox reported on April 5 that Poller was arrested on April 3 after calling U.S. House Representative Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.). While Rep. Gaetz’s name is redacted from the press release, Gaetz confirmed he was called and played the voicemail during his podcast Firebrand on April 10. Poller called Rep. Gaetz on March 29 and left the following message, according to the release: “Hi, my name is Allan Poller, A-L-L-A-N P-O-L-L-E-R, phone number []8931. And I just want to let you know, Representative [Name], if you keep on coming for the gays, we’re gonna strike back and I guarantee you, you do not want to f**k with us. We will kill you if that’s what it takes. I will take a bullet to your f**king head if you f**k with my rights anymore. And then if you want to keep going down that path, you know who’s next.”
The release states Poller admitted he was drunk while scrolling on TikTok when he became angry and called Gaetz. According to the release, Poller faces a sentence of up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
Previously, Poller was indicted on two counts: threatening to assault and murder a federal official and one count of transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure the person of another, according to a release by the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Hampshire on April 26.
