The Owls stepped out onto the ice this past Saturday for their second game, facing off against Norwich at Keene Ice and winning 7-0. The team entered the rink, determined looks on their faces and did not leave a trace of hesitation throughout the game. The Owls ended up scoring three goals during the first period, two during the second period and two more during the third period.
The first goal of the night was scored by Nick Feliciano, 4:3o into the game and was shortly followed by the second goal of the evening, scored by Jason Smith at 6:19. The third goal of the evening was scored by Giacomo Tedone, with 20 seconds left of the first period. This was Tedone’s fourth goal of the year. Norwich made 6 attempts to score during this period.
The Owls kept it strong during the second period, even though Norwich put up more of a fight, attempting to score twice and putting a lot of pressure on KSC. Keene State managed to score twice during this period, the fourth goal of the game by Ryan Tobeler at 6:27 and the fifth by John Belisle at 19:04. Belisle scored the sixth goal of the evening during the third period and Dennis Morehouse scored the seventh and final goal with only 30 seconds left of the game. Norwich attempted to score five times during the third period, but in the end they were not able to. Overall they had 13 attempts, Keene with 51.
There were five penalties against Keene, three during the first period, one during the second , and one during the third period. Norwich had three penalties against them, with two during the first period and one during the second.
