Two Keene State College students reported an alleged racially motivated assault that occurred on campus on March 4, 2012, according to a statement released by Vice President of Student Affairs, Andy Robinson.
The assailants are not KSC students and have been banned from the campus, Robinson stated.
The Feb. 27, 2012 Campus Safety report log listed “heard over dispatch students assaulted” at 1:37 a.m. on Sunday, March 4. Pondside 2 was listed as the location.
The incident was brought to the attention of Keene Police and KSC Campus Safety and still remains under investigation.
Keene Police and Campus Safety could not return requests for further information in time for publication.
Robinson said KSC has “zero tolerance for violence of any kind” and offers the victims sympathy and support.
“Our priority is protecting individuals in our campus community so that our campus is a safe place to work, study and live,” Robinson stated in the address.
Robinson listed four resources for students who have dealt with physical or verbal assaults to use.
The resources include seeking counseling support at the Keene State College Counseling Center, speaking with the Chief Officer of Diversity and Multiculturalism, Dottie Morris, talking with resident assistants or resident directors, and lastly, calling Campus Safety to report any and all offenses.
