On February 11, members of Student Assembly approved a funding request of $1,250 for the Brazilian Jujitsu club. Club representative Arian Deihim-Panah attended the meeting to explain to Student Assembly members the need for funds.
The money will go towards the club members so they can afford session fees at Flow Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym in Swanzey, N.H., according to Deihim-Panah.
In other business, Provost Search Committee member Elizabeth Pockl spoke about the committee’s progress. Pockl said the committee is going through many applicants and is in search for a candidate who will not only work with faculty and academics, but also with the students.
The Student Assembly events committee revealed that the theme of this year’s spring carnival will be Asian. The carnival will be held the week of the April 27. The Social Activities Council will announce the spring weekend performance on their twitter account. Spring weekend will be held the weekend of April 25.
