Grab your popcorn because the Putnam Theater has revealed its lineup of film screenings for the Fall 2026 semester.
The theater will screen 13 films over the course of the semester. According to the Film Society President, senior Cait Erban, films for this semester were chosen in the spring by members of the Film Society, as well as the club’s e-board, both past and present.
“We start thinking as a club about what movies we’re going to show in the fall,” Erban said. “And during the summer, if we have to tweak it, we’ll reconvene and we’ll figure out if we need to replace anything.”
“We tried to get a good mix between some nicher stuff and some stuff that we knew would bring in a crowd,” she added. “We pick based on what we know the current club is interested in, what kind of movies people bring to the club, but we also try and get what people on campus who don’t usually come to our club meetings, what even they might be interested in.”
Erban said that she is particularly excited for the Putnam’s screening of “The Drama,” starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.
“I usually avoid the movies that we’re playing when they come out, so that way I can watch them at the Putnam,” she said. “So I’m really excited, because I’ve been dying to watch that.”
For other activities, Erban said the Film Society will be hosting its annual Halloween screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” with extra celebration in honor of the late Tim Curry.
“We’re going to try and do something a little special this year for that,” she said.
The screenings kicked off Sep. 4-7, with “Hot Spring Shark Attack.” Other September screenings include “No Other Choice” (Sep. 11-14), “Backrooms” (Sep. 18-21) and “Bird” (Sep. 25-28).
October begins with “Barrio Triste” (running Oct. 2-5), followed by screenings of “Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma” (Oct. 9-12), “Lurker” (Oct. 16-19) and “Exit 8” (Oct. 23-26). Halloween weekend, along with “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” Putnam will also feature a screening of “Undertone” (Oct. 30-Nov. 2).
November will feature screenings of “The Python Hunt” (Nov. 13-16) and “The Mastermind” (Nov. 20-23). After Thanksgiving break, the Putnam will close out their fall season with screenings of “Bunnylovr” (Dec. 4-7) and “The Drama” (Dec. 11-14).
Putnam screenings occur Friday through Monday at 7:00 p.m., with an additional matinee on Sundays at 3:00 p.m.
Tickets for Putnam screenings are $5 for general admission, $4 for senior/military/faculty, $2 for students and free for members of the Film Society, which meets every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Putnam Theater.
