From study spaces to campus events, Keene State students said some of the most valuable parts of campus life often go unnoticed.
When asked what they think is most underrated, students pointed to a mix of quiet study areas, campus traditions and helpful resources that shape their day-to-day experiences.
Kayla Carpenter, a junior communications major, said certain study spots make a big difference in her productivity.
“I think the upstairs study spot in the library and the rooms especially help me lock in and get my work done a lot better,” Carpenter said. “Even when I need a study break, going to the [Night Owl Cafe] to get some popcorn or a soda is always a good break.”
Others highlighted campus events that bring students together but don’t always get the attention they deserve.
Molly Sheridan, a junior business management and communications major, said events like Pumpkin Palooza and Spring Carnival stand out to her.
“I love those events,” she said. “They’re super fun.”
Jason Smith, a senior sport and recreation management major, pointed to campus programming during the year.
“Something underrated here on campus is DIII Week,” Smith said. “We have a tie-dye table out on the Student Center lawn.”
Some students emphasized the importance of campus resources. One student who asked to remain unnamed said The Hungry Owl has been especially helpful.
“I really like The Hungry Owl,” the student said. “It’s helped out a lot, even just needing a quick snack and not having any money. They have snacks and even groceries.”
