As the spring semester starts up again, students are adjusting back and jumping into classes and extracurricular activities as if they never left.

Throughout campus, students expressed what they’re looking forward to and what they are ready to experience in the spring semester.

“I am looking forward to listening to [lectures] in the biology lab. Being in the biology lab overall is something that excites me,” first-year Lena Corbin said. Sitting in a laboratory and being back in a structured routine throughout the spring semester is something she said she’s been anticipating.

“What I am looking forward to the most is hanging out with friends, eating at the dining hall and my math class for pre-K to 6th grade for educators,” first-year Angela Caldwell said. Caldwell also added that being back into a routine will make the semester go by quicker.

On the other hand, seniors Erica Gelvez and Gianna Buonopane are excited for another break after returning from a recent one.“Spring break and March needs to come as soon as possible, that is what I am looking forward to for my last couple of months left in the semester,” said Gelvez. “Ever since I was a freshman, each year the spring semester goes by fast, typically faster than fall, I would say.”

Buonopane agreed with Gelvez and said, “My favorite thing about the spring semester and what I look forward to the most is how we have another break after just coming back from one.” Buonopane continued, “It’s nice as well just to get breaks from school work and other things besides school for those who work as well. I am not only looking forward to spring break but also graduation.”

Some students said they didn’t have much to look forward to and are instead just focused on making it through the spring.

“I don’t have anything to look forward to but just getting by how I normally do. I’m sure this semester will be a breeze without a doubt,” said junior Sarah Laliberte.

Similarly to Laliberte, junior Sean Stanchfield said, “There is nothing to look forward to for spring. Every semester, as usual, classes and breaks and then more breaks and classes again.”

“This spring semester, I don’t have anything really to say other than to take it easy, typically each semester is the same,” said senior Cole Blanco.
