Revo Casino and Social House, Keene’s longstanding charitable casino, is going all in with plans to relocate from their current location on Emerald Street to a new location at Key Road Plaza. The Revo brand, which was formerly known as Wonder Casino until August of 2024, operates multiple charitable casinos in New Hampshire, with locations including Concord, Conway, Manchester and Lebanon, in addition to Keene.
Following a lengthy planning process and approval from the Keene Planning Board in September, Revo’s Keene location plans on moving into the space currently occupied by the outgoing Toy City toy store.
According to Vice President of Marketing Wade West, Revo plans on expanding and renovating the soon-to-be former Toy City space in order to accommodate features and attractions that are not currently present at the Emerald Street location.
“We’re excited for what’s next as we open our new location at Key Road Plaza. The expanded space lets us elevate everything people already enjoy about Revo. We’ll feature a larger Rebels restaurant, plus a new center bar and live music stage that will host bands and performers throughout the week,” said West.
“The goal is simple: create an entertainment destination that feels alive—where the energy pulls you in and where you can bring your friends or end up making new ones,” added West.
Dick Anagnost, partner to the Revo brand, said that the upcoming expansion will create more gaming opportunities for patrons, as well as live entertainment.
“The space will expand from roughly 8,000 square feet at [the Emerald Street location] to roughly 14,000 square feet at our new location, and we are excited to expand our offerings, including more table games and full slot machines, as well as an entertainment, which we were not able to offer at the current location,” said Anagnost.
Anagnost said Revo is currently conducting a market survey in order to gain insights about changes and ideas the Keene community would like to see at the new location.
“We have a survey going on, with the hopes of seeing what the local population enjoys,” said Anagnost.
“We have commissioned a marketing company to conduct the survey, but we always want people to go to our website and write comments about what they would like to see from us,” added Anagnost.
According to Anagnost, Revo plans to take ownership of the new location next year on Wednesday, April 1, with plans to be fully operational between December, January or February.
An in-house entertainment experience would break new ground for Revo, but would not for their customers. The current location on Emerald Street is located directly next to Bender’s Bar and Grill, a local bar and entertainment space which features live music, DJs and karaoke. Bender’s and Revo are separate establishments, but are connected through Bender’s entryway by a one-way door that leads to the casino. The two businesses often share an overflow of patrons.
According to Bender’s Bar Manager Jake Shelley, the shared proximity of both businesses has been mutually beneficial. Shelley wished the Revo team luck and goodwill at their new location.
“We have been good friends throughout it all, and we have definitely shared customers over the years. It was mutually beneficial, and we would help them out when they needed it and they have helped us out when we needed it,” said Skelley.
“It was always nice having them as our neighbors, and I think that they are going to do great at their new spot. It is a bigger space, and it will be a good opportunity for them,” added Skelley.
One community member and patron, who preferred to remain unnamed, said that the new location should be a positive for Revo, and said he is excited for new gaming opportunities at the expanded space.
“I think that this will be good for them to be in a new location, and they will be near a spot where they have two or three hotels, so that should bring in some new people and visitors from out of town,” said the unnamed source. “I play blackjack, and if they have more blackjack tables I will be happy.”
