Keene State’s men’s and women’s Swim and Dive teams hosted Gordon College for a meet at the Spaulding Gym on Saturday, Oct. 25.
The women’s team saw senior Rory Lee and junior Tallulah Going each place first in two events. For Lee, this was the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:07.53, and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:46.77. For Going, it was the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.26, and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.74. These wins greatly contributed to the overall win against Gordon College.
The rest of the women’s team saw other wins. Sophomore Hannah Reddick won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:10.53, with fellow sophomore Emily Stokel finishing second with a time of 12:24.19. The women’s team finished with a dominant score of 145-117.
On the men’s side, junior Alec Agosto was unbeatable in the 1000-yard, finishing with a time of 11:38.36, having won by almost 90 seconds. He also won first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:36.46. Junior Cooper Niles won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, scoring 169.05 and 148.50, respectively. First-year Caiden Cox finished first in a tight race in the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 1:04.05. Just like the women’s team, the men also had a dominant performance during the meet, finishing with a score of 151-116.
Both teams will have their next meet on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 6 pm, this time travelling to Husson University to continue their season.
