Keene State rolled into the Little East Conference (LEC) playoffs this week, with the Owls landing in their respective tournaments in 5 of 6 fall sports.
KSC Field Hockey, with a record of 13-6, earned the 2 seed and a bye round in the LEC tournament, going 5-1 in conference play during the regular season. KSC came into the season ranked No. 2 in the conference after Vermont State University-Castleton. Senior forward Grace Bazin has scored the majority of the Owls’ goals, scoring more goals than any other college player in the nation.
Women’s soccer also snagged the 2 seed in their respective tournament, playing the winner of the quarter-final match between the University of Southern Maine and the University of Massachusetts-Boston. Women’s soccer finished with an overall record of 9-4-6, 4-0-4 in conference. The Owls are undefeated in conference play for the second time in three seasons, having gone 3-0-5 in 2023.
Men’s soccer narrowly missed out on qualifying for the LEC playoffs, one point away from qualifying over the #6 seed Rhode Island College by tying Vermont State University-Castleton. The season opened up 4-0 for the Owls, but the pace slowed nearing the playoffs. Keene State finished with a record of 8-6-3, 2-4-2 in LEC play.
Volleyball, with two games to go in its season, sits at a record of 13-12 and 3-4 in the LEC play. Sitting at sixth in the LEC standings, the Owls have two games to play, one in conference, to hold their spot in the top six and make the playoffs.
KSC Men’s Cross Country raced in the LEC championship on November 1, repeating as LEC champions. Racing on their home course, the Owls won the six-team tournament by six points, outpacing Plymouth State University. Junior Tyler Bolaske was named LEC Runner of the Year, running the 8K in 24:50. Women’s cross country also participated in the LEC championship on November 1, narrowly being edged out by Plymouth State University by six points.
