Halloween is just a couple of weeks away, and many students are in the process of finding or creating costumes, while others choose to stay in their dorms or apartments during the time.
Students shared what inspired their Halloween looks and how much money or time was spent in coming up with creative costumes.
“I think it would be funny to dress as Issac Newton, let’s see if I am able to find a wig though,” junior Ella Moran said. Moran also said she thought it would be cool to dress as a mathematician. Her plans for Halloween are going out and having a fun time with her friends.
“We want to go out together. That’s the plan so far,” sophomore Kallie Warner and junior Alyssa Edgren said. The two said they are still coming up with ideas of what they would like to dress as together. Both of them also noted how they are going to spend time with their boyfriends and might be interested in couples costumes as well.
“Fancy Nancy is who I am going to dress up as,” senior Aleah Nelson said. She noted that she has many different outfits in mind, but the costume she’s most excited to dress up as is the book character.
“I am going with my friend [senior] Livvie Carter, she also has multiple costumes she would like to wear for more than just one night out,” Nelson said. Carter added that she had plans to go out to the bars, and she is excited to wear her Princess and the Pea costume.
Other students had different ideas of how they plan to spend their time during Halloweekend and how they don’t have to worry about planning anything.
“I don’t like the idea of dressing up for Halloween, more specifically this year it’s not really fun, my plans are just to hang out with friends and maybe watch a couple of movies,” said senior Camille Randall. She said she likes the idea of a calm, peaceful night.
“This year I am not really excited about Halloween coming up, I don’t care to do any festivities around the time of year where everyone gets together and excited, I don’t see it as a big deal as people make it seem,” said first-year Molly Chesson.
Chesson continued, “My plan is to hang out with my roommate and just spend the nights in, it is always nice just to have nothing planned so I don’t have to stress out for nothing.”
