Rainy weather is to be expected for the rest of the week and going into the next. Keene and the surrounding Cheshire County have been experiencing cold and humid weather the last couple of days, and that is likely to continue.
Michael Cempa, the lead meteorologist at the National Weather Service, provided some insight about how the forecast is predicted to turn out in the upcoming days.
Cempa elaborated that it is possible there will be rain showers Friday into Saturday as well, with next week looking to be warmer than this one, but with a chance of rain still.
The Weather Channel forecasts that there will be rain showers in Keene from Friday through Sunday. Friday is predicted to be overcast and humid, with Sunday being cloudy with a chance of showers.
The rain showers have also transitioned to snow and hail. Monday, April 7, notably saw snow showers.
While this may come as a shock at first, due to the geographic location of Keene and its spot in New England next to the mountains, sometimes Keene residents will experience snow in spring.
According to WMUR, “since 1868, there have been 145 years with snow in April and only 11 years when there was no April snow,” in the New Hampshire capital of Concord.
Keene State students can expect more rainy and cloudy weather for the remainder of this week.
