Keene State College’s student acapella group Chock Full O’ Notes (CFON) held auditions on Sunday, Feb. 9, and Wednesday, Feb. 11 in the Redfern Arts Center for those looking to join the group.
Of those auditioning were SJ Barney and Sammie. Barney, a senior, is a former member of the group from her sophomore year who left the group because of a busy schedule.
“I did one semester my sophomore year but [I] just had too much going on in my schedule,” said Barney. On coming back, she added, “I don’t have that much going on in my schedule anymore and I miss doing it [singing with the group]. It was always such a great, loving group of people and I realized I missed being a part of that.”
Sammie, a sophomore, talked about what brought her to CFON auditions. “I’ve always loved singing, I [sang] acapella in high school and I found it fun. It’s always just a good atmosphere [for] people and helps you make more friends.”
“I thought they [CFON members] were pretty chill and they all were nice and understanding,” added Sammie.
