The Social Activities Council (SAC) has officially revealed the date for this year’s Spring Concert will be April 13, 2025.
The concert will once again be held in the Mabel Brown Room. The announcement was made via SAC’s Instagram.
The date was released earlier in the year compared to other years, which SAC President Ashleigh Moroni said was due to a faster agreement process with the artist.
“There is a process when you go to book a large show like this where you have to submit a bid to an artist,” said Moroni.
According to Moroni, the process involves both the date and the price range. If the artist denies either, a new bid must be submitted.
“Last year, we had to go through several different artists before we were able to find someone that would perform at one of the dates we could host the event at the price point that we had,” said Moroni.
Moroni said that budgeting allowed the search for an artist to be easier.
“We got very lucky that the artist that was our first choice accepted our bid on the first go-around,” she said. “So we didn’t have to go back through that process a million times.”
Moroni said the early release date allows for more marketing prep.
“What we may do in that regard, while we haven’t necessarily planned all that out yet, is likely going to look a little bit different than it has in the past year or the year before that because the timeline we’re working with is different,” she added.
Moroni said the next part of the planning process will be locking down the theme of the concert.
“[We’ll be] determining exactly how we want to go about it in that regard,” she said. “And then, ultimately, figuring out what our public release date and public release process is going to look like so we can dive into ticket sales.”
Moroni said any students looking for more information about the concert should follow the SAC Instagram page.
“I, personally, am very very excited for the show,” she said. “It’s looking like it’s going to be an artist that’s going to be fun to work with and will allow us to put on a great show for you all.”
“The information will be released as soon as we can on our end,” she said. “So don’t think that we’re holding anything out on you. We want to get it to you as much as you want it.”
