The leaves are changing as Keene State can expect to see colder temperatures easing into the fall season.
Following a bout of rain on Wednesday, students can expect Friday to bring drier conditions, according to Derek Schroeter, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine.
“It’ll be a drying trend on Friday [with] skies going from partly cloudy to mostly sunny and a high of 69 on Friday,” Schroeter said.
Saturday will bring much of the same, with a high of 70 and mostly sunny conditions.
Sunday will be dry with a high of 71 and Monday will also be dry with a high of 73, according to Schroeter.
With temperatures in recent weeks still reaching low-mid 80s during the afternoon, Schroeter said students can expect things to get cooler overall.
“It does look like the temperatures will start to trend, will be slightly above normal but not in terms of exceptionally warm like we saw at different times earlier this month,” Schroeter said.
With the Autumnal Equinox occurring on Sunday, September 22, Schroeter added temperatures would be dipping into the low 40s during nights and students can expect to see “more typical fall-like temperatures.”
