Keene State Student Government has approved a total budget of $75,000 for the Social Activities Council’s (SAC) annual Spring Concert, with roughly $30,000 estimated to be available in the artist budget to offer to potential performers.
In a meeting held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, SAC representatives presented in front of the Student Government to make a case for their proposed artist budget of $60,000.
University System Student Board Representative Jeremiah Barry made the motion which was unanimously approved. The proposal was referred to as the “tier one” option, with tier two being a $30,000 proposal and tier three being a less costly alternative to a concert featuring an individual guest speaker.
Some of the issues discussed by government representatives included a $10,000 overrun buffer, a budget allotted for video equipment to accompany the performance, an estimated $2,000 to cover an opening artist and student ticket prices for all types of tickets.
Zach Murphy, concert coordinator for SAC, is the social media director for The Equinox.
