The Keene State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams had a dual double meet on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Springfield College. The women lost 219-78 to Springfield College and 232-67 to Wheaton College. The men’s side didn’t have much better luck, losing 225-58 to Springfield and 212-58 to Wheaton.
Senior Kiley Young was the top finisher for the women. Young won the 200 IM in 2:12.41, placed second in the 100 back with a time of 1:01.16 and posted another second place finish in the 200 back in 2:12.88. Young, senior Amanda Davies and juniors Adessa Noyes and Gina Nunziata would also post a fifth place finish in the the 200 medley relay in 2:01.29.
The men’s team got solid performances by junior Aidan Urnezis and senior Jeremy Bartley. Urnezis placed fifth in the 1,000 free and the 500 free. Bartley was fourth in the 100 back in 58:19. Junior Braeden Ledder finished fourth in the 200 back and fifth in the 100 back. Urnezis, Bartley, junior Aaron Turgeon and sophomore Zachary Finman placed fifth in the 400 free relay in 3:26.76.
The Owls will look to return to their winning ways when they host Bentley University on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Spaulding Pool in Keene.
