The Keene State softball team began their season on March 13, the week of spring break, with a marathon of games. After 10 games between Monday and Friday in Myrtle Beach, S.C., the Owls headed home with a record of 4-6. The 10-game sprint featured daily double headers with wins against SUNY Canton, Franciscan College, University of Maine Farmington and SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

The Owls will have a week-long break before their next game, and with that, a chance to reevaluate their season goals. “I would be lying if I didn’t say that a successful season to me would be reaching the LEC postseason and continuing on into the tournament, but, to be honest, an absolutely triumphant season would be watching my teammates achieve their personal goals, in conjunction with each of us growing individually and as a unit,” said senior captain and catcher Grace Hallett.

With the season already a quarter of the way through, Hallett and the rest of the Owls are looking to make the most of what’s left. “I am most looking forward to making numerous memories with my teammates and coaches…. Overall, I am most looking forward to experiencing all the memorable moments we will come across this season on and off the field with the team that I am most appreciative for to end my career with,” said Hallett.

The Owls will also begin a fourgame road trip starting Saturday, March 25 before their home opener on April 1 against the University of Massachusetts Boston Beacons.
