If you are vaccinated, you know that when you go to the COVID-19 vaccination location after your first shot, assuming you got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, you are given a little white card with your information on it. This card also lists which vaccine you received, when you received it, and when you are supposed to go back for your second shot. I have one, most of my family members have them and I would hope that many of you reading this have one as well.
If you are not vaccinated, you should go and get it because they give you your proof of vaccination card, a free bandaid, and it also gives you the feeling of safety and satisfaction that you are doing a good deed to help stop this virus and keep many people, including yourself, safe!
There are many reasons people will refuse to get the vaccine. Sometimes there are medical reasons that hinder the ways in which one can receive this vaccine, and this is a very valid, very real reason. However, there are also people who don’t believe in the power of the vaccine, nor do they trust what is in it, even though it is proven to be safe enough for the majority of the public, as the Pfizer vaccine has recently become FDA approved.
Whether you have a legitimate reason or you just do not care about others, many people do not have a vaccine card, which is leading many to forge or buy fake ones. Many places now require proof of vaccination, which in my opinion should be mandatory everywhere. Many people are using these fake vaccine cards so they do not have to follow mask mandates and so they can reap the benefits of ‘being vaccinated.’
This makes me unreasonably angry. I cannot, for the life of me, even begin to understand why someone would not get vaccinated, and why they would take it a step further to believe that obtaining these fake cards is okay in any capacity. People are still dying and will be for the foreseeable future.
These people are so set in their ways and will risk being sent to jail or fined because they refuse to get a free vaccine, that is given literally everywhere! There is no excuse for this type of behavior.
Most recently, Vermont State Troopers were caught with fake cards, but many more
people have been found guilty of this as well. The government has recently reported thousands of fake cards and seized them, and there have also been reports of Black Market investigations to find these dealers and bring them to justice, according to the Washington Post.
I know that many nurses and doctors, as well as other essential workers, are really frustrated with the lack of human decency, and frankly, I am too. The lack of respect from many people in the face of this crisis is just appalling. I think vaccines should be mandatory and I think that you should have to prove you are vaccinated very often.
I think it would help to make our country safer and help us to combat this virus much better. It would also help to stop the spread of any variants or mutations of the virus. I do not know much, but what I do know is that you should do your research and get vaccinated, if not for yourself, for your family, friends and for the country. If you genuinely care about anything, I should think that getting the vaccine should be an obvious step in proving that.
