On Thursday, March 29, audiences gathered at the Thorne-Sagendorph Art Gallery at Keene State College to listen to artists in residence, Denise Dumas and Randall Merchant give presentations. Dumas worked on video, sculptures and illustration projects during her residency at the Thorne. Merchant is working on creating a large sculpture project to dedicate to his late teacher, KSC professor Robert S. Neuman. The sculpture will also be a public statement on political and social engagement. The artists also discussed concepts, process, challenges and the feeling of satisfaction associated with the creation of large pieces. After the presentation, there was a behind the scenes look at their works in process. Share and Enjoy !Shares
