Student Government met Tuesday in the Mountain View Room and discussed the multiple Spring events that will be hosted by KSC as the Spring semester comes to an end.

Representatives of both WKNH and Campus Ecology met in front of the council to propose the budget and the list of bands that will be playing at SolarFest 2016.

SolarFest is an annual music and arts festival that is hosted at Keene State College that is powered by solar energy and welcomes eco-friendly organizations to advertise themselves. The event will host upwards of thirty off-campus and student organizations to advertise themselves at booths around the main stage.

The bands that have agreed to playing SolarFest include headliner Kung Fu, A Great Big Pile of Leaves, Spose, Survey Says, and Los Groms. The entire band budget adds up to $15,200. And for the first time, five professional environmental speakers will also be speaking between acts to talk to students about alternative fuel methods and conservation.

The budget also included finance for KSC Bandanas, Water Bottles, Tye Dye, Yoga and Ice Cream that will be handed out to attendees of the festival.

The budget for the Spring Carnival is expected to be over $30,000 . They will discuss ways to cut down the budget as well as vote on a T-shirt design in the upcoming council meetings.

Those who are interested in performing at the annual KSC Chalk Talk event should contact a member of the student council. Musical acts and any live acts are being sought after to play on Appian way during the event.

Tickets for the Spring concert are not yet sold out and they will be sold on the first floor of the Student Center on Monday and Tuesday from 9-6 p.m. Each student is allowed to buy two tickets and tickets are expected to be sold out by the end of this week.
