Kappa Delta Pi, the international honors society for education, hosted a cookie decorating event in the student center.
Students were able to stop by the table in the student center, Thursday, Dec. 8, from 12 p.m. to 1p.m. Students who wanted to donate would find the table set up at the bottom of the stairs. There, they would be supplied with plain sugar cookies and different colors of frosting. For $1, they could decorate and eat a cookie.
Three members of the honor society were running the table, seniors Allison Clougherty and Emily Bernier, and junior Sharon Barry. Barry mentioned that the money raised would mainly be used for their Ice Conference in the spring. Barry described the Ice Conference as an event where “past educators and current educators come and give tips and tricks” for those looking to step into the education field.
Barry said that students can expect more events next semester from Kappa Delta Pi. “It kinda took us a while to get this one finalized, but we’re planning to do more in the spring,” she said.
